Pinkalicious Party

If you aren't already sitting down, you're gonna need a chair. My little baby...my first born...my Sophia...is THREE. To celebrate her coming into three-dom, Sophia had a pink party. this was possibly the most lovely request I've ever had given the fact that I always had dreams of throwing a pink wedding and Andy squelched that idea before we even saved a date. I released my inner pink-party-animal inhibitions all on this Pinkalicious themed party and it turned out to possibly be the most lovely 3rd birthday I've ever seen. Seriously. We're talking pink lemonade, pink treats, a GORGEOUS birthday girl, and of course a pink birthday cake. Andy actually came up with the Pinkalicous themed party after all of Sophia's birthday requests involved her favorite color: Pink. So I went to town and all things pink was the only requirement.

The pink birthday treats: I made low-fat Rice Krispie bars pink by adding a little pink food coloring to the marshmallows, and served store-bought strawberry wafer cookies. The strawberries were hand-dipped in pink-colored white-chocolate chips, and I also served jumbo marshmallows dipped in pink frosting and sprinkles.

Instead of punch, I served pink and strawberry lemonade in mason jars. I found cute labels online and simply glued them to the jars.

For the birthday cake I made vanilla cake with strawberry frosting and strawberry filling.

Happy Birthday Sophia!
