Fall News

So, I was trying to figure out why I've been crabby all day. I've just been on a short circuit and couldn't figure out what was going on. I thought maybe it was the overcast...or maybe I was coming down with a cold. And then I realized I was up with Sam all night. Oh yeah! That's why! I probably only got like three hours of sleep. That's not enough. So I did what any normal mom would do to turn my mood around...put my baby in a cute outfit and took some pictures. It worked. It really did. Sam is so darn cute. I could take pictures of him until the camera dies. That's what I did. I hand selected my favorites to share with you:

As far as Sophie goes, she's becoming more and more independent by the second. She has to do EVERYTHING herself. Most kids would ask their parents if they could have a snack or something to eat from the kitchen. Not Sophie. She just marches right on in there and grabs whatever she wants to eat. The other day I walked in on her eating a bowl of cereal. As in: she climbed onto the counter, got a bowl, got some cereal, poured it into the bowl, got the milk out, poured the milk in her bowl without spilling, and got a spoon. Yeah. She's TWO! Today she grabbed an orange out of the fridge for a snack. I said "Sophie, do you want me to cut that for you?" Her reply: "No thanks mommy. Where's a knife?" Uhm, I don't think so. I let her exercise her newfound independence in more safe ways, like picking out her own clothes. Here are two of my favorite outfits that she's created lately:

You should have seen her when we went to Applefest last weekend. She wore three skirts. Three. She was so poofy she looked like a cupcake. I would have taken pictures but I was so busy juggling apple products and trying not to lose my family in the enormous crowd.

So yeah...a smiley-faced baby, a weirdly dressed toddler, and a tired mom....a very, very tired mom. That's us.
